School Redistricting Coming to Roswell

Public school enrollment is down across Fulton County and continues to fall.  Fulton County Schools, to which 55% of taxpayer property taxes flow, are reshuffling schools due to a “capacity imbalance at targeted North Fulton elementary schools”, particularly the upper north central region, including Crabapple Middle School.

Officials — most notably Chief Operations Officer Noel Maloof — are scrambling to better fill below capacity schools and planning long-term. This means parents will be facing difficult, uncertain and possibly unwanted changes in where their children attend elementary and middle school. The brand new Crabapple Middle School, which is 400 students below capacity, and Holcomb Bridge Middle School will almost certainly be affected.

Fulton Enrollment Drops from 90,000 to Predicted 82,000

Fulton County is the Georgia’s fourth-largest school system 90,415 students enrolled in 2022.  District officials said they expect enrollment to decline to 86,691 students by the 2026-2027 school year, and some estimates are as low as 82,960 students. Meetings Begin in August, Decision in December
