The Roswell Hornets Football Team opened their 2022 campaign with a strong defensive showing and pulled away from visiting Denmark 38-10. Roswell only led 14-7 at the half but pulled away with a strong defensive showing from junior defensive lineman Chase Morrison.
The game began with a special acknowledgement of Roswell’s deceased QB Robbie Roper. Roswell took a symbolic 5-yard delay of game penalty as the entire team held up five fingers, Roper’s playing number. Denmark, in a great display of sportsmanship, declined the penalty.
Roswell will be wearing a 5 sticker on the back of their helmets all season. You can look for the Hornets to be holding up a 5 after big plays throughout the season.
