A week after a Roswell man walking on a path at Roswell Area Park on Woodstock Road was beaten so severely that he remains in an ICU and on a ventilator, Roswell Police are still seeking assistance for any information.
According to 11 Alive and a witness account given to police, 40-year-old Matthew Donald was lying 20 feet off the trail in one of the park’s parking lots around 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13. The witness contacted police who found Mr. Donald bloodied and beaten.
11 Alive spoke to Matthew Donald’s father, Dean Donald, who said Matthew is a avid walker and the father of a 7-month-old baby. He was getting his steps in when the assault happened. Dean Donals said his his son was able to give his father and hospital staff two thumbs up but that both his eyes were severely bruised and swollen shut. Matthew, according to his father, was initially on a ventilator to help with breathing while under heavy sedation.

On the Roswell Police’s social media channels, residents were asking if there are any cameras located on Roswell Park trails or cameras at the entrance and exit of parks that capture license plates.
