Vivid Festival announces massive 2022 line up
From Paul Kelly to Perfume Genius to Sampa The Great to Spiritualized. Vivid announce a broad and brilliant line up for 2022 The line up for Sydney’s annual Vivid Festival has today been announced. with a cavalcade of incredible international and local artists set to visit Sydney for the festival through May and June. This year’s Vivid is the first since 2019. after a couple of heartbreaking cancellations due to COVID. The festival has bounced back in a big way though. pulling out all the stops and programming a ridiculously good couple of weeks of music (as well as lights. theatre. dance. art and more). For her two Vivid shows. she’ll bring a 15 strong group of musicians and dancers from her home country of Zambia for her first Australian shows in years. The great Paul Kelly will celebrate four decades of song across four nights at the Sydney Opera House’s Northern Broadwalk. supported by the brilliant Thelma Plum. Plenty of international guests are on board. German composer Nils Frahm returns to premiere a new work called Music For Sydney. Space rock icons Spiritualized will blow minds with a special performance at Luna Park. Genre defying musician Moses Sumney drops by the Opera House for one night only. where he’ll show why he’s been revered as one of the most talented and unique artists around for years now. The incredible Perfume Genius comes back to Australia for his first shows since releasing the brilliant Set My Heart On Fire Immediately. Japanese rock iconoclasts Boris will play their blistering Heavy Rocks album in full. followed by a selection of highlights from their incredible career. British favourite Baxter Dury (in his first Australian shows ever). trap/jazz/hip hop artist Masego and innovative drummer/producer Yussef Dayes.
